CEL STILL with AA Tune

Hey guys,

How come I am still getting a CEL with my supposed AA tune? I have a bad feeling AA kinda jipped me out of my group buy tune. I stayed in contact with them since last year about the situation with my car, and stayed in contact with them up until the day I got the tune flashed. When I was finally hooked up at the place I was getting the flash done, they acted like they never talked to me before and almost did not want to do the tune for me. They also tried to say that they can not remove the governor because of liability issues and they tried to charge me extra for removal of the CEL even though it was a part of the group buy. The governor I don't mind, its whatever, probably will never need to go that fast, but the way they treated me really turned me off. Right now, I feel like I do not even have a tune on my car; I feel like they just did some quick edits and said they gave me a "better" tune. I thought I felt a small difference in how the car ran, but maybe it was just my excitement.

So, why is my CEL still on from my headers, any other reasons?

Also, is there a way for me to verify I have an AA tune on my car and its not just my OEM tune flashed back?

Thanks

Rev limiter is a quick check.

If you didn't check with Viral, he's the guy to talk to.

I was talking to Viral and then when someone else wanted to talk to me they acted like they never heard of/from me...

And I have an auto, whats the stock rev limit? Do I just put it in neutral and see how far it goes?

Any insight on the CEL? Before I did the tune, the CEL's I got were as follows:

P0174 - too lean
P0430 - Cat efficiency too low
P1193 - too rich
P0420 - Cat efficiency too low
P1190 - too rich
P0491 - SAP flow rate too low
P0492 - SAP flow rate too low

I'm guessing if they did their job, the first 4 should not be there and maybe the last two are still there throwing the code since I still have the SAP but it is useless with headers. How do I get that turned off? I will get the codes checked today to double check. Is there an underlying issue to those codes?

Thanks

Shouldn't have the SAP codes no matter what.

The lean code can come from an intake. Do you have an intake on the car? I get one on occasion. Make sure your intake boots/hoses are secure.

If they turned off the rear sensors you shouldn't get codes because the car won't even check. Sounds like they goofed.

Well those were pre-tune CELs. I'm going to check today what still shows up.

And yes, I do have an intake (K&N). There was a point where the cone fell off so I'm hoping that's just a stored code as I've done pretty much all the boots and hoses.

What do the SAP codes mean to me then? Is it because there are no cats? Obviously I do not need the SAP but if that is the only CEL left, how do I fix it?

That is my first option if those are the codes I'm getting. Could it be anything besides that?

Btw Aggie, just wanted to stop and say thanks. In the years, you have always answered my questions and I always see you answering other peoples questions as well. Some people may not appreciate it as much as I do and I know what a few kind words can mean to someone when all they do is give and expect nothing in return. Cheers!

Here's a major thing that could benefit you: DOCUMENTATION. If you have receipts with a list of options done during the tune, then that could help you out tremendously.

Ok so all I get now code wise is p0491 p0492 which is from the SAP (non header related I guess?) And p1092 p1093... what are those from?

You're not alone getting cat efficiency codes from AA tune who supposedly supposed to disable the post o2 sensors. I've had the same issue since the group buy and communicated with 2 people.

Those cat efficiency codes were before the tune I do not get the efficiency codes unless that's what p1092 and p1093 are?

Bump... are those two new codes my pre cat o2 sensors, I can't really find much out on the forum via searching except that someone got the light to go out by changing the post cat o2 sensors, but I don't have any!! How come other people with headers are not getting p1092 and p1093??

I run catless headers and got a cell w/in 35 miles or so after my aa tune. I went back to my original Dinan tune and am happier. I figure my $$$ are gone so fvck it.
To get rid of your cell research the LC-1.

Aggies should be awarded "gold status" here for all of his "donation" to to the Site and people like you and i!
