You are going to need more space.

I have plenty of outdoor space.. but not alot of indoor space. I have a driveway thats two cars wide that leads to the gate. I took the picture from the gate pointed at the garage. To the right is room for two more cars.

Kenton's seen it.. its small but not THAT small. The picture makes it look smaller.

If the project gets good momentum I may find someone who will rent me some shop space for the final few months .. we'll see.

So while searching for welding classes I found a place called "The Techshop" in San Jose like 15mi from my house. They teach welding there and also allow you to have a membership much like you would at a gym where you can go in and use their cnc mills, plasma cutters, etc..

Looks like I found where I'll be doing most of my work!

Thats awesome!...and as far as the yard space goes Marcus has a fair amount to move things around and fit a few cars if needed so it should suffice for his task...storage in the garage is a different story but his seacan should be able to handle anything needing long term storage.

I also have my storage facility where I kept your car.. anything that needs to be stored longer than a few days can always go there.

The Techshop definitely gets good reviews. I think you could also enroll at Foothill or DeAnza as well.

Mkodama is a local fanatic/board member with some welding skills if you ever need a sounding board.

It's easier to start with the space in the beginning....you'll find you need more space in the middle of the project then at the end.

That said, being able to walk out into the garage from the house is a lot more time efficient than driving 15-30 minutes to a commercial space. That is the one thing I don't like about my setup....that I waste so much time commuting.

Another point is that by luck I'm in the middle of an area where lots of the supplies I consume are sold. Hardware stores, welding shops, auto parts stores, Fastenal....in going "custom", I've found a TON of my time is actually spent out hunting for tools, raw materials, or parts. It helps to be situated close to all of that stuff.

The drag car has to be IR.
If I passed by a house with two beasty LSB and IR M3's I'd stop and take pics. Consider it outdoor decorations. I vote for IR or PY.

Things won't be moving on this project for atleast another 2-3 weeks as I'm traveling every weekend until then.. but I have identified two potential E46 M3's for the donor..
