Slight kink in plans .. I'm moving mid June.. which is a HUGE undertaking. Still in the same area (Peninsula/South Bay) but thats going to set me back some time. Likely won't be able to get things underway until mid July.

Edit: The good thing is I'll finally have a garage!

Congrats! Moving (and lack of a garage) held up my motor swap for years, but it was worth it.

Might put a lift in the garage, and if I do you're of course welcome to use it!

That would be awesome. I've been pining for one, but I'm thinking of moving again soon so I put it off for a bit, haha.

A friend/former coworker of mine installed one in his garage last year. Had to inspect the slab before installing, but he lucked out and everything was ok. It's a huge help, even lifted at half height!

Definitely outgrew it.. and yes the electricity bills were high as well! Here they charge you based upon the average neighborhood usage.. and our neighborhood is full of old people who go to bed at 7pm.. so they barely use electricity.. so compared to us we're 'abusing it' .. so they charge us about 300% more per watt.. our electricity bills when we first moved in like 4 years ago were about $800/mo.. we quickly realized that the exterior landscape lighting was not worth keeping on.

I work in solar, and some of my highest volume contractors are in the bay area

Congrats on the new place! Definitely check the slab. Post-tension slabs are a NO NO for lifts.

Solar is certainly huge up here.

I'll have a professional inspect it before I do anything.. safety is very important to me.

Yup.. I have a small little warehouse in redwood city that I was going to build out over the summer into a little hobby shop with a lift so I could do this.. but I had to move (unplanned) and that wound up taking up most of my summer and I never completed my hobby shop.. so now its just a warehouse with no lights, and all new drywall/etc.. and no lift..

I do have some tools there and I've been working on the car with my buddy Mitch when we have time. We've had to rework the rear end, and the swaybar/etc.. there was to much binding. Trying to fab some strange engineering brakes.. had to put in and subsequently take out my one piece driveshaft.. have it re balanced.. I've had to put in and take out my clutch twice due to the flywheel bolts backing out and will now likely have to pull the entire motor (something is unbalanced.. this has happened 4 times now.. in under 4000mi).

Slowly but surely I'm making progress.

I was going to build a new drag car but my time has been so limited I thought I'd have a better shot if I just reworked my street car.

I will be running it at mfest.

Full weight.

Six speed manual.

IRS.

Will I hit 9's? Who knows.. but I'm working with what I've got.

What did you change up the diff to? Can the m-variable unit even handle the power? I wonder how close to the 4b motorsports drag full race car your street can get- david ran around 9.2/159mph with irs and built up stock diff I setup.

As low as 2.65 ratio is avail to fit the 210mm with ability to configure high lock clutch LSD. I'm still waiting on that s54 block/crank from my friend: do you still need one?

Something unbalanced in the motor? Who has built it these four times?
