servicing

Hey guys my 2006 330ci has had its few services at registered dealers.
On my dash I have "100km till next oil service"
2 questions,
omitting any serious problems found, what will this service involve? (Im a novice)
secondly, any recommendations on where to take it? Other than the dealership in Doncaster and preferably to keep the track record a BMW certified mechanic. (I live in the eastern suburbs)
Thanks!

They usually just change the oil, oil & cabin filter, check everything, tell you a few things are wrong to bump up the bill before sending you on your way with a lighter wallet.

No point getting a dealer to service E46 now unless you like the experience as there are plenty of independents around who have all the equipment and will do an equal or better job.

Re: servicing

Sorry should have said I'm from Melbourne!
I know about the add ons but one can say no unless they try to confuse you with jargon.
Separate mechanic would be totally appropriate but sometimes you pay for peice of mind

When did you get the car? I've seen it around a few times.
It's really personal choice where you go, or what you pay for the right stamp in the book - if that's what you want.

Just remember the plates. I can't remember what I have for dinner, just that I ate it. So I can't tell you.

Is your log book up to date? If so check which type of service was done last. There's Service 1 and Service 2. Service 2 being a bit more detailed....and dearer.

i personally wouldn't go to BMW myself. Just go to a reputable BMW approved independant. They can stamp your log book and will usually say BMW approved.
