Best Intake for a ZHP?

Good day all,

I was wondering which air intake is the best for a 2006 330ci ZHP ?
I've read alot about the BMW Performance intake , K&N , aFE however i can't decide.. Could you guys help me please.

I like the design of the BMW Perfomance intake , but does it worth every penny of it?

Anyone know if there is any seller out there that still sell the BMW Performance CF Strut Brace?

Thanks in advance for your reply.
Jon.

Look in the classifieds for the intakes for an alright price as well as the strut brace, they come up a few times a month. BMW Performance is a much better intake than the K&N. Worth it? That depends on who you ask.

BMW Performance is a nice piece. Shame about the price hike though! Or GruppeM if you're a boss!

I have an AFE on my zhp. I like it looks nice and sounds good. I had to modify the heat shield with a file to clear the headlight but it is no big deal. I can show you a picture if you are thinking about the afe.

If you want a BMW Performance intake I'll be taking mine off the car this weekend.
It's in near perfect condition, less than 1000 miles on both it and the filter. PM me and I'll give you first crack at it.

Cosmo Racing. $145 for a long-tube.

^This. Cheapest, cold air, & makes actual gains. Don't go GruppeM, AFE, or K&N since none of those are cold air. As long as you don't live in a place with really heavy rains, a long tube cold air intake will be best.

Or you could try to find a Dinan long tube in either CF or plastic. I have the CF and the sound of it is great.

BMW performance is the best non cold air option.

NOT Cosmo. Cosmos Racing. Cosmo is garbage, and they spam everyone on Youtube.

Don't long tube. Even DINAN, who has guarenteed better fitment and quality then any other company, has had hydrolocked engines due to long tube.

Got any links to these? I've been using a long-tube for a while now without any problems.

You lock your engine up with long tubes because you submerge the entire filter in water. Avoid big puddles

If it's deep enough to submerge the entire filter, it's over 12", so it's not a puddle anymore.

I'll stop ranting. I just get tired of people barking about how a long-tube will destroy your engine, because they read it somewhere. It's not true.

^Thats not a reasonable opinion and their spamming has no relevance to their product

How come no one uses this with their CAI? While it might affect the true cold air im sure its better than a short-ram.

Find a bypass valve for a 3.0-3.5" pipe.
