yes it will fit an e46 sedan, i have one guy interseted for 115, but if you can beat that and are willing to pick it up in Albany, NY by Wednesday its yours

That won't fit a sedan. The coupes have wider bodies. There for the trunk is wider on the coupe than they are on the sedans.

Your almost right, the e46 M3 had very little in common with the stand 3 series however the 3 things it did have in common were the, roof, doors and trunk. its wider do to a wider bumper and fender flares. So to answer your question Dutche46 yes it will fit the trunk.

I just measured my sedan trunk and my roommates M3 trunk, his is wider.
