Switched back to OEM chrome kidney grills. I like this look better, gives more contrast to the car.
Today I tried to change my gear shift and boot but realized that the boot looks like it's for LHD cars GRRRR!!! I went to google the correct part number, but apparently it's the same part number (25117919219) for both LHD and RHD cars. Confused. Also have the ZCP steering wheel to install. Will do so once I get some tools needed for the install.

I had the same problem with the LHD shift boot... but there should be one, is the CSL shift boot alcantara? Maybe get that one.
I prefer black grills personally but it does create a heavier image of the car and to pull the look off properly more exterior mods needs to be added.

^ so did you end up finding a RHD shift boot? Pretty sure CSLs were SMG only, so no-go there

Damn I forgot CSLs were only SMG
my bad I haven't really looked at trying to find one for RHD so unsure if there is an off-the-shelf bit available - mine came with a BMW SSK of which I have only installed the knob...you could also try getting one custom made if its worth the trouble. Maybe check out UK based shops to see if you can find one

Wow, ating, the chrome kidneys really do suit your car. It compliments the wheels nicely. As for the steering wheel, you don't need any special tools from memory, just a flathead screwdriver.

I could be wrong, but with the boot, you may just need to swap over the bottom trims.

Thanks for the comments guys
As for the shift boot, yeah someone else suggested I just take the alcantara off the plastic mold and re-glue it to my existing mold. I guess I could do that but would prefer not to fiddle around with it. Also as niiCk said, it might not stretch as well over an inverted shaped plastic mold.

Totally agree - OEM grills on Carbon Black and Sapphire Black is win. A very elegant contrast.

Yes, for some reason Chrome OEM grills looks much better than blacked on on Pre-Facelift/M3s. Must be because the grilles are not as wide.
