Are you a DIY kind of guy? Could save you couple hundred, some of those things aren't hard to replace if you got the tools and service manual.

OH and we made it to the 6 page, first again LOL

I would love to do a lot of diy's but I don't think I have any of the right tools, plus I don't have a garage, plus the streets around my house aren't level :/

But from now on i'll post in here what the problem is and see if you guys think I can DIY it or not. I would love to learn more by doing that.

I'll try

Yesterday's update! I went to the shop expecting to pay around $250 to fix a rear trailing arm bushing (correct me if that sounds wrong) because the mechanic thought that was the cause of the reallllllly loud and embarrassing squeaking noise that was coming from the rear left wheel area.

He spent 10 minutes with two other mechanics trying to get the car onto the lift and finally got it up. Once it was up he took the area apart to get to the bushing and say that it was still good. Thought maybe it was the coil in the rear that was rubbing with the rubber top hat or whatever you call that. Greased it up and lowered the car again to see if it was still squeaky. It was so he looked around a bit more and noticed that the nut thing that screws onto the hub of the wheel while the wheel is on wasn't the right one for my car and was loose.

Previous owner must have put that on because i've never messed with that. I think he said it was a subaru part? But either way he tightened it and the squeak went away. Didn't charge me anything and I walked away feeling like I made $250

If no other maintenance things pop up I have a plan for the $250.

That's all, i'm happy

Yea because it fit right. It is just a 6 sided edge instead of like a 12 or something. I'll take a picture when I can Aka it just needed a different tool to tighten it or something. Like I said i'll show pics asap

Picture of the one that is supposed to be on the car they said. This is the rear right wheel.

The one that was loose and they said wasn't made for a bmw. This is the rear left wheel.

And if anyone could help me with this it'd be much appreciated. I need to get a roof rack so that I can carry two bikes.

I'm thinking of going to OEM route with a 38" Yakima Fairing. I've seen people do it in the "roof rack" thread

http://forum.E46Fanatics.com/showthr...562479&page=38

but I just wanted to get some feedback if I should do that.

OEM Roof rack:

Yakima Fairing:

2 OEM Bike Racks:

http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Genuine-Fa...ar=1&carId=001

Do it?

Tiny update, first I have been kinda tracking my gas mileage because I am bored.

I completely filled up my tank with $65 when it was empty. That full tank with $65 which was about 16 gallons got me 340 miles before it ran out. So I think I got around 21 miles per gallon on average? Is anyone else around that?

Next I got a roof rack from "50feetAGL"

It's the Thule 753 I guess.

Put it on

Used it the next day to take a kayak to a lake Worked great. Here's some pictures

That's all for now. I need to get a fairing and two bike attachments for the rack. If you have those for sale then please hit me up!
