Steptronic Gear Surround Removal

Hi

Ive looked through the forum but I cant find anything on how to remove the gear knob and the gear boot surround on my steptronic. There was a link on youtube but i cant find anymore.

Can anyone shed any light on this please.

pull up on the leather and the inner portion will come out and there are two screws near the bottom of the trim.

To remove shift knob just pull straight up with some force, don't twist it during pulling. To put it back just press it straight down with some body weight.

Hi, just a new member recently. Do you know if its possible to install a steptronic shift knob from a newer BMW to my 2001 330i?? i saw it on youtube, but dont know where to buy one. Its just to upgrade the looks of it.
