Okc Hail Storm Damage @ Dealer

A lovely hail storm moved through okc earlier today. After the storm passed, we felt like checking out some of the damage at the local bmw dealer. Most of the new cars got stowed in the warehouse but the ones left outside... 'twas pretty bad.

Poor Valencia.

Just thought I'd share.

The insurance company is going to take a beating on that one, but PDR guys, body shops, and glass companies are going to make a killing.

I worked for a glass company when a similar storm rolled through back in 1988. The storm hit the east side of Montgomery, AL where all the new car dealerships are, and there were hundreds of cars that got the same kind of beatdown. The hail was baseball-sized. I lived in a Montgomery hotel room for three weeks, and replaced 15-20 pieces of glass every day. We were shipping in tractor-trailer loads of windshields and backglasses every week. The local body shops stopped doing estimates on cars after a week, but we replaced glass in damaged cars anyway.

Everybody got a fat bonus after it was over.

See what kind of deal you can get on that 1M. That would make a great track car.

I believe the 1M was a customer's car. Was at the dealer getting his rear bumper replaced or something like that. Sucks

Probably the single thing I hated most about that area. Was always terrified of the hail. Cant say I miss it
