I debadged my 330i the day I picked it up. (Also told the dealer not to put his badge on the trunk!
). Now I put my DINAN3 badge under the hood in front.

Took off all dealer stickers/license plate frame, etc.
All BMW/Model designations will remain. Got my eyes open for a "K" that's close to logo script for when I finally get an ASA Kompressor! Or maybe then I'll take all numbers off to keep 'em guessing |

I never "got" the debading thing with car or motorcycles.
I take pride in the car or bike I choose. So, for me, it makes no sense to remove the badges. I like having a 325i BMW, thus the badges stay. The only badging I removed were the dealers installed license plate brackets. I won't advertise for shady dealers. As far as looking "cleaner" or having "better lines", no, I don't see it. To each his/here own I say. TT |

weird thing over here is that when debadging an 318i, people actually think you're a wannabe 318i who's actually running a 316i. Couldn't get any worse huh?
But then again, I want to get the doorhandles and boot lid color coded, besides that maybe an Eisenmann or Supersprint tailpipe(as this one looks very factory with slash cut 80 mm tips. But how bad does it get, I haven't debadged , now I guess it's too late... 1999 car. Any way to properly remove badging without seeing where it used to be?

I debadged my car about a month ago. It's a 2000 and been on there for a while. You could tell where it was after the letters were gone. I had to use tar/bug remover over it. Then I waxed the whole car after washing it. And during the whole process your car gets cleaned and waxed! Couldn't look any better after that! Don't worry about how long it's been on.

i really dont get those poeple who debadge their M3's. I have
nothing against those who do it as I myself will do when I get my 325, but cmon man its a freakin M3. Their is so much honor, respect prestige and beauty in that name and logo. Why would you disrespect the M Power u have been handed down to you and tyake it off. It is like taking off ur last name and just goin by ur first. SHAME ON U PEOPLE!!!! by |

Several other BMWs have come from the factory without the badge - mostly end-of-line models, market-specific special models. And the debadge option is very popular in some countries, particularly on the high-end cars - and not just on BMWs. |

Your opinion seems to me to be at odds with the general view. Debadging is more popular in European countries than anywhere else, and when it happens, people complain about it less - perhaps they have less baggage. Also there have scores of different 3 series models (316i/318i/318d/320d/320i/325i/330d/330i), rather than just two, so things are not always what they seem. Especially as very few 3 series sold are the high-end six-cyl models. For those who intensely dislike debadging, what would you do if you bought a second-hand car, or even a BMW model which did not come with a badge in the first place? Would you go out and buy the badge in case you were worried that people might think you were driving a low-rent model and wanted to hide your shame? Or would you muster sufficient strength of character to resist? |

I have no desire or interest in taking my "M3" bading off because anyone with half a brain is going to be able to see that it's an M3 because of shape/style/front air dam/side gills, etc. anyway!
The M stays, *****.

If I had the money i'd buy a 330i, debadge it and replace it with a magnetic 316i badge that I could stick on when the mood takes me. I would NEVER get tired of smoking other drivers at the lights who tried to outpace the 'fake' 316i!
And yes, my 318i SE was ordered from the factory with 'No Model Inscription'. |

I don't know, I figure, if I paid for it then I should wear the 330Ci badges proudly. Just my two pennies
