The radio had story about the uniqlo store in sf creating 500 new jobs...
How big is the store? And how many workers do they need? Sounds wild

I'm sure that's some sort of extrapolated number, especially if they said it "created" a number of jobs rather than "Uniqlo employs X people."

Sounds like a good outfit but aren't you dying in it? I'd have a heat stroke in flannel + a sweater.

Whenever it's the weekend or a bank holiday (ie, office closed) they turn the HVAC systems to the bare minimum.....with it being 34 degrees this morning it was fairly brisk in the office.....I got warm, but nothing that rolling my sleeves up didn't fix.

Have I ever mentioned my friend who used to work for road & track magazine? He was a test driver and writer for several years
Used to because they shut down the ca office... I guess a lot of magazines are going online only
Anyway
He got a job at porsche as the new product manager
He was back in LA for the weekend while I was there... his company car that he drove around while in la was a panamera turbo s
That thing was pretty sick
And looks like he will be taking advantage of the company lease ... I wasn't paying attention because I was checking out the panamera so I don't know if he will be leasing the panamera or a 911
Either way, sweet deal

In this case, losing his job let him make a huge move forward in his career

I need to get some gloves for my morning commute to campus on my bike. I'd like to get some good leather gloves, something that will last, any suggestions?

You can pick up a pair of cycling gloves for cheap at a local bike shop. Most dress gloves will wear out (the palms and fingertips) pretty quickly riding a bike. Plus bike gloves have padding that will help keep your hands from going numb while riding.

It's a 10 minute ride, tops, usually closer to 5. They won't be seeing anything heavy duty.

I sold the motorcycle when I moved. I'm rocking the human powered variant for the time being.

Not as aggressive as Dave's "go to hell" pants, so I guess these are "go to heck" pants. Either way, sending a message today.

Also pictured: Alden for BB black loafers.
Not pictured: Taylor Stitch shirt, light blue with white pin dots.
