Anyone else wear sweater vests (usually v neck, mostly sleeveless, occasionally long sleeve) over button ups with ties? Growing up my grandfather had this style and I has always liked it causing me to get into it when I got out of the "everything should be oversized" stage back in high school. Been going with it ever since.

Once the temperature drops I wear a v-neck sweater almost every day.

Of course, at the rate we're going around here that's not ever going to happen. We're in mid-October and it's still in the high 80s at the moment. I hear that the temperatures are finally supposed to drop in the next week, though, so I'm looking forward to busting out my sweaters.

Clarks all day long... crepe sole

Chocolate suede or their beeswax leather are my top two choices... already got the chocolate suede ones, so one more left to go.

They will run you $120, well worth it

Not my thing, but on the right person, it can be a good look. Generally the same population that can do bow ties, in my opinion.

robbing with a sword is a good thing

My apt is near the liberty place location, so it's probably gonna become my go-to for work clothes. Im gonna go to the short hills spot tonight though; the liberty spot closes at 8 and I'm not sure I'd get there in time after work. Thanks for the tips

It is a classic "dress like an old man" look
I have several v-neck merino wool sweaters in different colors

I do this, but don't wear a tie (not needed in my case). It is great to not have to iron 95% of my shirt and just toss a sweater on. I like the look and it cuts down on ironing. Win-win.

That reminds me, I need to pick up a few more sweaters now that it is cooling off.

I bought about 15 at the beginning of spring. Saved plenty and allowed for many combinations with shirts and ties.

Interesting I do find it comfortable, but less so on the straight cut jeans of today than the boxy voluminous jeans of yesteryear.

I think you're either a hands in or hands out person and one can't imagine it whilst the other can't imagine life without it.

The beauty of the Bay Area is that there's almost always demand to wear a light jacket. As such, hands go there and pants are left for wallet, keys, phone, business cards, gum, etc etc etc. I miss life in colder climates for one reason - excuse to wear a North Face with dozens of zippered enclosures.

I definitely put my whole hand in my pocket on other pants, but not jeans. Maybe it's just the picture of the guy is so dorky that no matter what he does it's going to look bad.

I've got an appointment with the folks over at BigO in EDH. I'm a little afraid to drive all the way to Roseville on the donut spare. It's not a confidence-inspiring ride.

When I flatted out I pulled into the Chevron in Town Center and walked over to Big O. They sent a tech over with a tank of compressed air to see if they couldn't fill it up. So that counts for something with me.

A vest with sleeves is a sweater.
