Any thoughts on this? I have been in the market for a jacket like this (or something more technical from the likes of Patagonia, Mountain Hardware) as either a cool weather jacket or a layer under something. I like that it looks a bit more upscale than your typical jacket.

only size left is XXL. not sure if that influences your decision, lol. Or if you'd found it somewhere else.

F-CK WOLVERINE BOOTS

Apparently they think its okay to manufacture a faulty product and then tell you to pound sand.

Seconds or not, a $600 boot should not be coming apart at the seams after 15 wears. And the company that made the faulty boot should stand behind their product and fix it.

I'm going to have them fixed and then sell them for a pair of cordovan Indy boots. I don't want anything to do with this piece of sh-t company.

The wife found out that she is getting the promotion she applied for! She has a day coming up where she can get 40% off everything in the store (Nordstrom) so I think I'll be saving some money for that

Can you just flat out return them? I know with AE one is able to return their seconds if the shoe is too far gone. Sucks to hear that about Wolverine.....

It sounds like he already tried that and they told him to "pound sand."

i would have assumed he called the factory.

if you called the factory, call the store. if you called the store, call the factory.

if both of those fail. light them up on styleforum as well as every online shop that sells wolverine and allows customer reviews.

I didn't buy them from a Wolverine store. I got them secondhand. Either way, wolverine says they don't help purchasers of seconds.

I think AE's seconds policy has raised expectations for a lot of customers.

Hopefully you caught the name of the person you talked to and can call back and speak with someone else, armed with the knowledge that they don't help second owners.

Granted, if they ask you where you bought them and/or ask for proof of purchase, you are hosed.

A company who is strong in customer service won't ask those questions, but it doesn't sound like they are a "fix it with no questions asked" sort of company.

look up. 721 and 744 100 Mile LTD. Editions. dave got the 744's. you'd THINK that being a limited edition shoe, it would hurt their press pretty hard to get out that they fell apart.

My Ride: is totaled
but ... seconds and secondhand ...
what was the reason for being marked as seconds? sounds more like "thirds" if they are coming apart at the seams

In my mind, it's clearly their product and clearly a defect in the workmanship. It doesn't matter where I bought them. The damn things were only released like 5 weeks ago so it's literally impossible for them to be older than that, as they weren't available for sale.

I'll be calling and bitching.

well... the main thing is that with the LTD models they are trying desperately to tap into Alden's market. there's no question about it. with something like this, after such a short amount of time, it's an obvious defect. they'd be absolutely stupid not to recraft them for you, or at least reimburse you for a repair.
