Looks like Alden's color 8. They are more red/less purple in real life. And, comparatively, they're a steal at $600...

If they are reddish cordovan from AE, they are simply called burgundy. Yours looks a bit faded (burgundy and color 8 cordovan fade to brown) but definitely burgundy.

i'll take come better pics once they are polished up nicely. i promise you they are not burgundy/color 8. they are too light for cappuccino and a bit too dark for walnut cordovan (which is noticeably different than walnut calf.)

i am thinking they are just brown shell cordovan like the strands, but i'm trying to get confirmation that they were made like that at some point, maybe as a webgem or whatever a couple years back.

dave... called a couple AE stores around the country, LA looked up the 4 digit code from the inside of the shoe, they are "Truffle" shell cordovan. Going to research it now and see when they were released.

My AE Randolphs are Chili and are more casual looking than I'd like as a result of the color. That limits the versatility and coupled with a tight fit on my foot, means I am putting them up for sale soon. Too bad since I like the idea of the shoe but it just didn't work out for my particular needs.
