Out of curiosity, could someone define what each line's strengths are?

ie,

Regent - The slimmest cut for younger guys
Firtz - Next slimmest cut

etc etc.

You can always have the jacket tailored so it's less boxy. Just make sure your tailor knows that you want some waist suppression in the jacket.

I took a quick look at the BB website. They used to have a comparison of their various suit cuts, but it looks like it's gone now.

milano is the slimmest
(actually i think whatever new cut that came out this year is even slimmer but i have no experience with it)
but the thing is they are not linearly ordered in slimness
the regent has a bigger shoulder to waist drop while the fitz has a slightly smaller chest circumference or something like that
forget which is which
and just avoid the madison because that's a box
bottom line is..

go to a store and try it on
the only sure way to find the fit you like

where the F is the suit chart on the website? I can never find it and it is such a pain in the ass. it goes through all the different suit cuts and gives a decent description

slimmest is milano. then cambridge, but not really because it's a sack jacket. it's just short, almost like the BB BF stuff. then the fitz, but the fitz is sort of oddly shaped, the regent is the best cut suit and almost as slim as the fitz, almost no different really, and it's double vented which is far more desireable... any other cut, don't bother.

I find BB's cuts insanely confusing and it's so frustrating that they don't have a comparison/explanation on their site.

imola just gave the best summary of the cuts
better than what BB's website used to say

like i said, they are not linear in how slim they are
one cut is slimmer in one area .. and the next cut is slimmer in another area
except for the milano which is just slim slim

they do, but i can't find it to save my effing life

why do you suggest that the doublevent it much more desireable? i actually prefer a single vent, however it doesn't really matter to me. my hugo suit is double vented whereas my fitz is single

i think it's more about personal preference and your body type

Someone knowledgeable should make this a chart with graphic examples

Double is better if there's junk in the trunk.

double is better. historically, double was on sportcoats and single was on suits. this was so while you were riding your horse, while sporting, your jacket still covered your ass. now, you'd be hard pressed to find a tailor in italy or london that makes a suit with a single vent. it's just dated.

Dated or more formal. No vents is certainly the most formal.

Single less so, and double (for the above) the least formal.

More fit advice/opinions please. This is just something I dug up from my closet from a long time ago; I'm not considering buying this or anything.

the jacket looks really small on you (makes sense if it's an old jacket)
tight and short
but it's the right look... just need the proper size
