And I would never buy a suit without knowing the cut and measurements

btw, i stopped by the brooks bros in downtown manhattan yesterday and tried on a couple suits. the fitzgerald is by far the best fitting suit ive tried on since i started this whole quest to find a suit. ive heard that BB has a pretty big sale the day after xmas, so i'm thinking i'm probably gonna head in and pick one up on the 26th

BB usually does have a good sale on suits after christmas
Probably not on staples like solid navy or solid gray ... but you might find a subtle tonal stripe or some other color or pattern
Talk to a sales associate about it
I strongly suggest finding one or two that you like and building a relationship with them

Mike Larry, what size are you again? I'm thinking about getting rid of a Fitzgerald Navy that i have that i've worn like... 10-15 times. i'll sell it to you mad cheap if it fits. it's a 39S... SUPER rare size that they don't make anymore. they don't make odd numbered sizes in Shorts anymore.

people on eBay are so dumb, i swear. i just sold a J. Crew Mayfair Topcoat for $285. it's $398 new, with 30% off currently... so $278.60 new... why on earth would somebody buy one used?

EDIT: and for reference, $278.60 is what i paid, because my ex gave me her employee discount.

not sure... i don't need another coat right now, so i think it will just get added back to the hurricane sandy general insurance fund. especially after dropping $710 on those Ravello's LWB. i find out tomorrow if i got a new job i applied for. if i did, i might put the money toward some Lobb City II's. the new job will be at a suit & tie every day type of place.

I don't understand how you can spend $100+ on fitted hats, which have no utility, yet drag your feet so much on a suit, which would be highly useful and an asset to your career.

I've been buying fitteds for years, but suits intimidate me. Seeing as how my office is business casual, I'd like to do my due diligence and get it right the first time.

Can you post a picture of a hat that costs over $100 for a casual hat? I'm having a hard time picturing anything like that.

Hats. Plural. He said he bought four and they start at about $30.

I'm guessing that I'm not the only one who equated the two in my mind. I figured your family business was real estate development.
