I noticed that, too. THey look really nice, but they would look like clown shoes on me, I think.

Broke out my 3 piece suit for the first time in a year.....I typically only wear it when it's cold, and when I'm going to see one of my older, wealthier clients. I've gotten a handful of a compliments, and one or two jabs, lol.

My Fitz was tailored quite a bit, so it has a modern fit. A center vent doesn't automatically make it "unmodern."

They've actually had the 1Ks at least a year. Bloomingdales also carries them.

robbing with a sword is a good thing

The Fitz is supposed to be a throwback to the early 1960s (the name is in reference to the F in JFK). One of the things that makes it popular is that you can tailor it to fit several different looks, some more modern, some more classic.

Not out here in the hinterlands, I guess. We don't even have a Bloomingdales here.

Venting style, Lapel width, and jacket fit are the first things I notice that alludes to the style/era the suit is going for.

Fitz has bigger lapels than the Regent and it is a great suit, but even on the manaquins it didn't have the same "modern" vibe as the Fitz, which carries a more "classic" look IMO

The Fitz has more ability to look "classic" than a Regent, and less modern at the same time. It's just the style 'sall

I didn't know that the Fitz had wider lapels than the Regent. I'll have to see one in person--I dunno that I'd want to go much narrower than the Fitz, myself.

the fitz and regent have virtually the same lapel width
if anything, the fitzgerald may be even narrower than the regent's
the regent comes with more waist suppression out of the factory
the fitzgerald is cut smaller in the shoulder and chest with less waist suppression

Consultant buddy of mine has to wear a 42r Fitz due to the wider shoulders than a 42r Regent....

I didn't wear a v-neck sweater today for the first time in...quite a while. I'm freezing my butt off in my office and my jacket feels like I'm wearing a tent.

Yeah I'm not a fan of that big plain toe like they have. I'm getting the 1000 mile Addison's for Christmas and they look much better.

unless if you get all of your buddy's measurements, we're not really going to get anywhere based on ONE example

i own two fitzgerald and 3 regent cut jackets
and i have looked at dozens of BB suit sale listings in my size over the past 2 years with shoulder and chest measurements
and the many members on styleforum with BB suits say the same
fitzgerald is cut narrower

now even within the same size and cut, there can be some variation in the actual measurement
different seasons, different factory, or whatever the reason may be
it does happen

When I compared the 1818 regent to a OTR fitz it just looked and felt slimmer. Maybe its the higher arm holes or something, maybe the slimmer pants are what do it (Regent has a 7 inch drop)

Fact
The fitz has higher armhole than regent

The regent fits you better off the rack so you like it and got it
That is all

It could all come down to just the higher waist suppression
