Great outfit.

Nice. I have been re-doing a good part of my wardrobe (read: selling stuff).

One of the few additions will be a pair of Clark's DBs. But the ones I plan to get are not actually a crepe sole, they are like a gumlite sole and I think they are called Bushwicks.

I guess so. I've been wearing 501s for so long I don't remember the actual rules on sizing. I probably wash them once a year. I don't wear these for yard work or anything else where they'd get dirty so it hasn't been a problem so far.

Thanks!

I think the gumlite sole would be better for wet weather. I've also been tempted to get some of the beeswax leather boots. I think they would break in nicely over time.

You're in Chicago or the general area right? From first hand experience here, crepe is great in dry, mediocre in wet (concrete is not bad, but smooth tile is scary), and mediocre in soft snow. If you wear it on ice, you will die.

Keep in mind, it's called a "Desert Boot" for a reason. It's an old British military boot design, meant to be worn in the North African deserts.

Yes, the beeswax is great looking. Yours are sand suede, correct?

There is a thread on SF solely about DBs. Some of the guys like their to look downright abused. I prefer the well-worn, but not abused, look.

Did you buy your normal size? I've heard they run large, but I tried my normal size and they fit well, although if they stretched they might be too big. I'd also like to wear them in summer with thinner socks, so maybe I need to try a half size down to be sure.

Cool. I got my first pair a few months ago and followed Levi's sizing up instructions. These ended up being too big so changed out for something closer to my regular size which are working out better. These are my first pair of raw denim.

I've been thinking about getting some of those. I've read a few weird things about sizing, however, and I don't really want to have to send them back five times to get the right size.

Do you have a Nordstrom Rack near you? I stopped by one in Chicago last weekend an they had at least 1-2 in every size >10.5 (not saying they only had 10.5 and greater, just that I didn't look in the girly man sizes.)

Yeah, the Bean Boots. We have a Clark's store at the mall here that carries just about anything I could want.

If you do get the Bean Boots, don't get the lined ones. They are very disappointing.

Cousin's wedding today. I hope I don't ruin the wedding reception. I will probably say less and just get things moving along

Oh, I wouldn't. They would be too hot for 95 percent of the time here.

Yeah, just keep it short and simple. Nobody really wants to hear anything from you (if it's like any other wedding program).
