Since he's new, I attributed his pace to an abundance of caution. Seems like it's just laziness though.
Lack of reporting where you stand before going on vacation, particularly when your assigned (high priority) work is not complete, is very telling.

Unless he's fresh out of college and just not used to what a real job is like, I'd be wary. Just my $.02

also, i'm planning to exchange the bb fitzgerald that has been sitting in my closet for a month for a madison this weekend. gonna try it on one more time and if it fits as well as i thought it did 2 weeks ago, i'm going for it. havent decided whether i'm gonna keep the pleats or not
We would all agree with the first part
But at the same time you are having a hard time finding a suit that fits you
So next option is mtm or bespoke

You can keep it simple and stick to the basics
If you like the details of the bb suits, ask them to make it exactly the same

Yeah...he's 26. He has enough work experience that he should know this is unacceptable.

this isn't bespoke. it's made to measure. and yes, i did say that and in normal cases i stand by it. but in your case, since you haven't been able to find anything off the rack that fits, i would retract my statement and say go for it when it's this cheap. just keep it basic. navy... no weird lining or buttons or stitching. you'll save money this way in the end. on a madison you'll spend at least $150 in alterations. especially if you remove the pleats.

the sale's available for 4 days, so i'm going to think on it until the weekend is up. would you recommend paying the extra $100 to get wool? i'm assuming the lowest one (for $499) is for a wool blend.

i gotta say: buying a suit has been the least fun shopping experience i've ever had

At that age a person should know better. If I left without giving, at the very least, a status report it would weigh on me the entire vacation. How new is the guy?

He joined at the end of October. We hired 15 new people on 10/29. The other two guys in our office have not had this issue.

yes spend the extra hundo. also, the deal includes a $200 credit towards your next suit from them. so it's a pretty decent deal.

That feel when you check your bank account and find a small paycheck direct deposited which you had totally forgotten about

I'll go into Sales Engineering when I finish school and make the real retarded cash, I just don't understand why people want to manage others, nothing about it seems worth the stress.

The good thing about people who need to be fired is that they continually give you reasons to do so.

I was reflecting back on 2012 and remember letting 3 people go. Not one of them was for a singular issue and all had been talked to prior to termination.

I've actively taken on projects that give the same effect as people working for me (more revenue associated with my name) that don't involve additional people, but I can't avoid it anymore. Also, I'm at a point with my brokers where, if I'm out in meetings for a couple days, I really do need someone backing me up.

It's not really a "management trap" role...it's more like what you called "a few underlings." The issue is that, as the team grows, whoever I have will most likely end up being my lieutenant, and I just don't see it in this guy (right now.)

morning guys... the sky is clear at 34,000 ft, however the clouds below go as far as the horizon... landing in LA in a little over 3 hours, couldn't take much more boredom so i got 3 hours of internet for $12. Not bad... Alaska Airlines has been noticeably pleasant compared to the rest of your typical airlines.

I feel that. I was brought on to be a #2 to a manager, and I essentially run the team without management duties. But it is nice to have some backup if you are out for a few days.

Good help is just hard to find.
