My direct boss, and 2 indirect bosses are fantastic.....but dealing with this marketing person is making me lose hair that I don't have.

Don't let the tail wag the dog. We have marketing who would like to see XYZ pricing or get sq footage above 20k for no reason other than it looks good and is easier to sell.

But that is not our product and it won't make as much money. So i tell them, No. (you are an idiot).

mr. chow. this included a bottle of red and two glasses of champagne but still man. food was okay. service was garbage. I pulled the most low class move but **** them. they were seating people 45- 1 hours past their reservation. We only waited 30, which was absurd but good by comparison. Definitely not worth $335. There was 18% gratuity and I crossed it out and wrote in a number with 0 tip.

I bet they still charge you the tip. Ive tried crossing it out and subtracting but not worth me trying to dispute the credit card charge later.

i'm jewish. i will dispute the charge, not because i'm cheap, but purely because i'll win through amex. and they didn't say on the menu that gratuity was included. so they can eat it.

I have the perfect shoe for you, 2 actually.

Magnanni Federico - Nordstroms, $199.
Magnanni Mateo - Nordstrom's Rack, $210.

The Mateo is the same shoe, but with a leather sole. It is a $330 shoe that I scored at my local Rack. The Federico is rubber soled and just as nice. Awesome shoes, same quality as AE, made in Spain.

Work-related rant.

In insurance, once a broker has submitted a piece of business to a carrier, they have exclusive right to negotiate on that business for a set period of time. If within that window, another broker can submit a Broker of Record letter, signed by the client, and become the new broker locked onto the account. Any quote sent to the first broker can be bound by the new broker.

Also, quotes are officially good for 30 days (so we can amend our rates if need be) but we regularly accept orders on quotes up to 90 days old.

I just got a Broker of Record letter on a piece of business and they're trying to get me to honor a quote from May of 2007.

Are you f-ing kidding me.

robbing with a sword is a good thing

2007...2013...Yup sounds reasonable enough I swear people try to do those kinds of things all the time in the financial world, like an auditor isn't going to see that and go ...I work in mortgages now and I see so much nonsense like that.

How irritating. I think sometimes clients think that they have more bargaining/market power than they really do.

you always have to be ready to say "screw you" to a client. you can only let a client b.f. you so far into your career.

I've been on a few teams where we've fired the client......it's always a satisfying event, lol.

Fvck. Our remote answering service just imploded. Fortunately it's right before the weekend, but I guess I'll have to find a new service next week.

today there were 5 mormon kids, missionaries, on the subway platform that had a jegna game, a chess game, and a checkers game setup on a table. they were playing people to listen to their message. so if they beat you, you had to listen to them. if you won, you didn't. haha. it was pretty cool.
