I did okay in college. I was a bit disappointed by how being #1 in high school and having a high SAT score didn't get me into the schools I wanted, namely stanford
So I said screw it, I'm going to get more out-of-the-classroom experience in college and hardly studied ... and went too far with that

um... i did whatever in college. i actually don't even know what my final gpa was. i didn't go to my graduation or ever pick up my degree (seriously). i think i was around a 3.2 or 3.4? at columbia though, i found getting B's was easy, i didn't have to do anything. but to even get an A - seemed like an insurmountable goal. it wasn't worth the effort. nobody has ever once asked my gpa and i'm pretty happy with my life.

Same for me at dartmouth
Barely going to class or studying a little got B/B+
Got some A/A- but the difference in how much I had to try was huge so I decided to just settle for the easy grade

But the difference for me was people did ask for my GPA since I applied to law school
Should not have gotten into the coast and settle mode

Anyway, I did well on the ACT (and did okay on the SAT when I took it in sixth grade) and then posted a fairly mediocre GPA in HS.

I also posted a fairly mediocre GPA in college, because I hated all forms of school.
I think I finished SLU with a 3.0 aggregate, but classes that had to do with my major were all B+'s or higher. I think my first job out of college asked for my transcripts and every since then, notta. I enjoy school....I would love to go back to SLU to get my masters in applied financial economics or my MBA in the next few years.

If you were near the bottom of your class, how did you manage to get into Columbia?
Money, connection, or even the bottom of your class was still really good?

rainy here today
temps pretty low
having lunch in downtown today
probably throw on a sport coat

all my pants i had made in korea turned out kinda funky in the ass/thigh area (too much material in random spots, uneven stitching)
i am disappoint
i feel like they must have switched their sewing people or something because the last two suits had no such problems
i'm letting my alteration tailor do his thing
left him a pair of my best fitting suit pants as model for measurement
definitely going to talk to the tailor in korea about this

I was invited to speak to the county association of real estate professionals. So I tried to dress the part.

I think I look hipster-y today
I decided to go with a shawl collar cardigan instead of a sport coat

Nice. I have a couple of shawl-collar pullovers that I really like.

Jeez. Im not giving you my money to manage.

I was like Ed in high school. #6 and 1500 SAT. Lots of 4-5 onAP tests but still couldnt get into Harvard.

I like to think we all do better in the real world, but the truth is that even incompetent boobs have high paying jobs.

Got my suit sleeves shortened and pant waist taken in->raising the hem.

bought some cotton dress pants at the Gap
i went there to return a jacket that i ordered online ... saw some pants ... nice fit and feel, good as casual to semi-casual wear
extra 30% off already reduced prices
think i could have gotten these even cheaper eventually but i was already there so grabbed 3 pairs (navy, charcoal, and "stone" very light gray)
