Plus they're sort of disposable shoes, so if they were to get too bad you can just toss them.

Today at church my son and I were exact twins:

Blue blazers
Tan chinos
Sperrys
White OCBDs
Argyle & Sutherland ties (for just enough green)
Blue surcingle belts
No socks (of course)

I don't think anyone noticed.

Having a mini-me is next level style.

I did try wearing my sperry topsider boat shoes without socks last summer ... wasn't too bad
But I am rarely going to go completely sockless

Side note looking at that custom shirt thread and was browsing the itailor site too good to be true for the quality I imagine but kind of fun to kill a bit of time making shirts and suits

Meeting 3 attorneys to discuss business tonight over dinner
I was going to suit up... but I was just given the location of the dinner ... it's a vietnamese restaurant
Looks very casual
Hmm
Not sure if I should just go with a sportcoat

I know one, college friend
The other two are my college friend's law school classmates
So I'm assuming they are all about my age
I know my friend does not dress up ever... but then again he doesn't have to and he's not the new guy

I wish the meeting was at a nicer restaurant. Then I can just dress up without overthinking it
I will play it safe and ask my friend

Maybe wear my new navy glen plaid suit
And be prepared to lose the tie if no one else is dressed up
Maybe even throw the jacket in the car before going in if they are totally dressed down

Just wear what you think is appropriate. If someone else isn't wearing a tie, that's not a problem. It's not like there's some dress code where you all have to be at the same level of accessorizing.

When in doubt, I'd wear a heavier or less formal fabric suit. Maybe loafers and no tie. Sure, it might break some fashion rules, but it's a ubiquitous look

epaulet now has semi custom oxfords for special order. you can specify longer or shorter sleeves, collar size, collar type, body length, color, etc. sort of a limited MTM, almost... almost.
