Does Nordstrom usually discount the same AE shoes during their big sales? I like the Cliftons and they were $200 last year during the July sale. I don't know about the previous year or the year before that, but if I can wait and get them on sale, I will.

what length do you guys usually wear your shorts? I need to buy some new ones because I feel like the ones I have now are a little long and immature. Also, cheap recommendations. Thanks.

At the knee is a good rule of thumb, but depends on on style. Some people frown on cargo's here I wore some black shorts this weekend that were a smidge below the knee and looked fine to me, I'll be busting out my cargo's soon too and working on dat leg tan

The warmer temps are bringing out some epically bad dressers.

During those sales, you can usually get first quality versions o popular models (fifth, park, etc) for $250 or so.

Who frowned on cargo shorts?

And below the knees?
Was that like capri style or cholo style?

I actually picked up some Mossimo chino shorts at Target for like fifteen bucks. They were bottle green (lots of GTH colors) and just above the knee. You can also try Lands End at Sears for some good classic chino shorts that run around $25.

GTH = Go To Hell. As in, "yeah I'm wearing lime green shorts, go to hell"

I got a few pairs of linen shorts at old navy for $18 or so. Actually really like them.

Something basic--either white or navy for me.

I stick to a max of one crazy thing per outfit. I wouldn't wear bright red shorts with a paisley shirt or something.

Yes... in fact, they usually discount every one. Maybe there was one or two in that mix that weren't included, but IIRC, the following were $199-$229.95

Strand, Park Ave, Fifth Ave, Clifton, Players, McTavish, Macneil, and maybe one or two others.

Keep in mind, the Clifton is now a Nordstrom's only special, so you might not want to wait until July. I would imagine that they won't be having that shoe for much longer, its already been roughly 6 months since AE stopped making them.

I think white polos work really well with navy's... very nautical, obviously. For any other color, clearly a white polo will work, but I think that kind of outfit is something you can play around with rather than "this white shirt goes with everything"

Depending on the color shorts you wear, you can look at your basic colors. Navy and brown are very versitile. Also, look at pastel colored polos as well. If you get your hands on some salmon colored shorts, you would wear anything from a sky blue to a deeper ocean blue with those color shorts. You can wear two different colors and not look too bold, or like a flag from some country lol. One color has to be bold and stand out more, where the other color is softer and compliments the entire look.
