Sorry to hear about your dog, man. We think of my dog as much more then a pet, so I can understand what you're going through.

Love the case! Fits great and it comes out passed the screen, for extra protection.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

We've got Dug, our Lab/golden mix, so we're not entirely without dogs at this point. We're watching him closely and giving him lots of extra love, since he can tell his buddy/brother isn't around. It will be interesting to see how he acts over the next few days, as it becomes apparent that Jack isn't coming home.

Nice! How's the texture on the phone case? Can you still slide it in and out of your pocket without it grabbing the fabric? I've been going without a case on my GS4, and it's so slippery in my pocket that I think having a case would annoy me now.

Not at all. It's leather and seems to slide out very easy

YMWDLOM Pros:

I've taken a promotion at work and it will require me to be in the office more (relative...I'm only there twice / month now). I'm in IT consulting which is inherently on the casual side, usually business casual. My new level observes a slightly more professional dress code - typically a jacket / sport coat with no tie.

I'm fresh out of jackets. Give me 2-4 staple jacket suggestion that are versatile for year round wear and can go with most other staple shirts/pants.

Combo suggestions would be great. I'll acquire these over the coming months. I'm interested in something that is a good buy...something that will hold up well, but not break the bank.

TIA.

Your first purchase ought to be a navy blazer. I don't like gold buttons but a lot of people like them. After that, maybe a patterned jacket in a glen plaid or a gun check. Get some slacks or nice chinos in tan, stone, and gray, and some navy slacks to wear with the patterned jacket. You can find these kinds of things at any Nordstrom or Brooks Brothers for not too much money. Land's End also has reasonable quality for a low price on things like these. Get some penny loafers or some simple lace-ups and some oxford-cloth button down shirts and you'll be able to mix and match lots of different outfits.

my recommendation would be a bit different and it's entirely dependent on your climate.

if you're somewhere with seasons
1. Navy Hopsack
2. Navy Wool
3. Gray Wool, perhaps a wool/cashmere blend.
4. Beige/Tan Linen

if you're somewhere like LA
1. Navy Hopsack
2. Gray Sharkskin
3. Tan/Beige Linen
4. Something with a windowpane, probably Navy or Gray Silk Blend or Mohair. Plaids/Houndstooths/Guncheck/Prince of Wales are far too aggressive for a collection of 4 coats. Windowpane is an easy transition to patterns.

Maybe I'm using the wrong term. I think I'm using glen plaid when I mean windowpane. I do tend to go with more aggressive patterns as a rule, but maybe that's just me.

Anyway: good suggestions, all.

Yep, need it for all season use.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm probably going to overhaul 80% of my work wardrobe.

I ended up buying a few things over the weekend. A pair of black AE McAllisters for $150. A Boss Black suit for $295.....I know it's a fused suit and all that, but the fabric was nice and the price was right. I think I would be hard pressed to find anything of similar quality at that price. It doesn't look like a "fashion suit" either.....regular width lapels, well fitted pants (aka, not hipster tight).

Where did you score the AEs for $150?

My advise - do it slowly
So you don't overbuy and regret

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale + wifey discount

Regularly priced they were $229, which is still a deal and a half, in my opinion.

Historically, this has been true. However, I'm finally getting to the point where I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I drove the Deuce to work today. Here's what I have left to do:

1) Finish sanding and paint
2) Install the carpet I got for Christmas last year
3) Install the new interior door panels I got a year or so ago
4) Put in a headliner
5) Put in a stereo?

That's basically it. Mechanically, it's all done.
