Picked these up at GAP yesterday. Best fitting pants I own. Apart of their Baldwin collection Click image for larger version

I had to sell my Bayfields because they weren't wide enough. I really wish I still had those. Such a good boot.

Wish I could get them in brown CXL and this black wax infused leather:

The Dalton has always been interesting to me, but every time I actually consider buying them, something about the proportions of the wing and vamp seem off.

^^^I've probably mentioned it before, but you could get those Bayfields through the Styleforum MTO promotion. There's been a few people who have had them made in color 8 cordovan, cappuccino cordovan, etc.

Do you know if that small-tooth sole is still available? That's a big part of what I like about the Bayfields.

The few MTO examples that I've seen on SF appeared to have the same sole that I've got on my CXL ones.

Ya man they are great. They have the sheep wool along the back of the heel.

These new ones have the wool on the inside alone the heel and on the front half of the inside under the ball and toes of the foot. Match that with the crepe soles, and you can't compare the level of comfort to your typical Clark crepe soles.

They look like the nicer line from Timberland. That's a good thing, IMO.
These boots are a tad wide, but I agree with Clark's, they look huge. These are 9.5 and are a little more narrow than my 9 Clark's, which was part of the reason I got them. The distressed leather looks really nice, the color is rich, and was enough to pass up the beeswax, the soft wool on the inside made the choice that much easier.

A friend of mine has that same trench and I agree, it's is absolutely beautiful in person. It's too bad that everything he buys is fit to look like he's a kid wearing his fathers clothes

I have a Casino night at a corporate event in Orlando on Friday.

Suit, or something a little more casual with no tie?

I dunno. Has this event been put on before? Maybe you can get some input from your co-workers.

An event like this is tough--it could be anywhere from slacks and a shirt with no tie to old-school Rat Pack tuxedo extravaganza. Good luck!

We do this yearly.
I work with engineers so its mostly business casual as my profession isn't known for dressing well.

I wouldn't mind being the dressed up guy though - I just haven't done any casino nights, I expect its more the former than the latter.

I just feel like I should be in a suit at a casino night, like its more "proper" if you will.

Go for it. If worse comes to worst you can always ditch the jacket and blend in with the others.

lol that sucks. in my mind, buying expensive clothes without regard to proper fit is such a huge waste of money that breaks my chinese heart. if you're gonna put forth the dough to buy pricey stuff, you owe it to yourself to put forth the effort to get them properly sized and fitted

Suit, no tie. That's what I'd do, at least.
