Any opinions? I'd like to just buy 1. They are both the same price. The Park Avenue is burgundy cordovan, the Dalton boot is dark chocolate calf.





I think I'm really wanting to hold out for the brown cordovan that AE has (like on JJ's Strands) as it's just gorgeous.

Casual-ish. I took some shoe polish and shine to my belt last night and it actually helped quite a bit.

I think I may hold off on the shoes, for now. AE has their new fall shoes/boots coming out in a few weeks and I'm interested to see what they have. I will own a pair of those chocolate calf Daltons, at some point......


In another bout of my inability to make sartorial decisions, preferences on these jackets? If it's not apparent, they are the same jacket but in two different colors (uncle blue and light khaki). The main hangup is that the khaki one is ~$130 and the blue one is ~$250. They would primarily be worn with jeans. These particular ones have been "over waxed" with Fjallraven's greenland wax.

I think the khaki looks better as well. The blue one with jeans gets a little close to Canadian tuxedo territory.

The jacket is not waxed from the factory, but if you go to Fjallraven's website, you can buy their greenland wax which is meant for their G-1000 fabric (which is what this jacket is made of) and it will give it the worn/broken in look in the earlier pictures.

I don't think it fits that guy correctly, and like I said it's not waxed from the factory.....you get to add your own accents to it, I suppose.

Rather than holding out, contact them and see if they can make them. I'm not sure how true it is, but I could have sworn I've read on SF that they can still make the Strands in walnut cordovan, so maybe they can make the cuts on the PA out of a piece of the brown cordovan.

Worth a shot to see if they can make them Do you know if they will eventually make the brown or you just crossing your fingers?


Also... in the next couple months with fall and winter coming around the corner, I am interested in a cordovan boot. Prerably a balmoral style rather than a blucher.

The Gaziano & Girlings in this video are absolutely gorgeous, so style wise, something very similar. I love how it has the "long wing" look along the sides, but its still a cap toe.



Any suggestions? Color 8 would be preferable

The wife just ordered me a pair of jeans that were on sale from Nordstrom (anniversary sale). She gets an additional % off so they were under $90....not bad for a near $200 pair of jeans.

We'll see what they release for the fall. Part of the allure of those cordovan PA's is that they are under $300. I think if I custom ordered them in the brown cordovan they would be around $600. If I were going to do that I would order the Dalton boot in the brown cordovan.

I beleive there's a $100+ fee for custom orders, so $700+ for the walnut Strand.

Also, it's quite a stretch to go from $300-400 AE seconds to $1500(?) G&G bal cordovan boots.

Those g&g boots are sexy

I love AE, but spending $700 on a pair is a bit much, in my opinion.

I will never be in the market for $1500 G&G's lol.. but i am wondering if you or anyone else knows of any other companies that have a boot similar to the G&G. Most of Alden's boots are blucher style, and i would somewhat prefer a cap toe to a wing tip. I plan on using them for work as well as casual.

AE doesn't have anything remotely close to what I would wear... so i'm wondering what other companies there are to choose from.

Honestly, I don't think such a thing exists at what I'd call a reasonable price point (in calf, nevermind cordovan).

I would suggest Trickers but I don't think they're particularly G&G-like.
