I had to go to court this morning so now I find myself at the office on a Friday in a full suit. I have an initial consultation this afternoon with a business owner looking to do some corporate structuring, so I guess it's okay.

Yeah, that's true. I guess I just don't dig boots that aren't actually boot-like (IMHO).

I'm kind of with you. I enjoy boots, but even my dressier boots are still pretty hearty.

When I see the really dainty bal boots with the suede upper part, it just seems pointless to me. It's like overalls...made of linen.

Agreed. I don't actually wear dress boots at all, but I can appreciate yours and the Trickers variety.

Tonight I stopped by the local BB to see what had come in. They had a cashmere sport coat that was originally about $600. It had been marked down to about half that, and then they had it for 40 percent off of the marked-down price.

Total price OTD: about $180. Excellent. I'll post pics when I get it back from tailoring.

Worth a shot to see if they can make them Do you know if they will eventually make the brown or you just crossing your fingers?

Also... in the next couple months with fall and winter coming around the corner, I am interested in a cordovan boot. Prerably a balmoral style rather than a blucher.

The Gaziano & Girlings in this video are absolutely gorgeous, so style wise, something very similar. I love how it has the "long wing" look along the sides, but its still a cap toe.

Any suggestions? Color 8 would be preferable

I believe this is your best bet for a "cheaper" balmoral boot. I don't vouch for the style or maker (although they are handmade in either England or Spain)...simply saying this is the most affordable balmoral boot I have seen. Yours (preorder) for $450.
