Thanks! It's a bit of a change for me--I've never had a tie this color and I've never had a solid tie (other than knit ties).

Mine? It's a half windsor. You have to train the tie to get the dimple. Sort of smoosh the tie into an M shape as you tighten the knot. after a while the dimple will get creased into the fabric and show up naturally. It just takes a little manipulation.

Two.

At home tonight: raw 501s, red chambray workshirt. No shoes (unless I go anywhere). It's like 100 degrees here so I plan to stay inside with the delightful AC.

Hm. I just got a panicked phone call from a guy who needs a trust and will tonight. I guess I'll be headed to the office in a few. I hope he likes my denim and chambray ensemble, since I'm not getting dressed up for him.

Dave - odd question, but if you were to suffer a data breach (stolen computer with unencrypted information related to clients, for example) and you were sued for breach of privilege, would you assume your LPL policy would cover the suit?

Nope. Most policies will exclude those kinds of things, IIRC.

Normally if a computer were stolen and someone tried to use that information at trial, it would be an easy thing to have suppressed.

Now, if someone stole my computer and tried to use the info on it to steal someone's identity, then that might be another issue. That's one of the reasons why we don't keep client SSNs, for example. We need that information sometimes (to obtain an EIN for a client, for example) but we delete it as soon as we're done with it.

Can you offer any insight as to how suits regarding breach of privilege are settled? Specifically how damages are generally awarded - a factor of the original demand? I'm entirely unfamiliar with these kind of suits.
