i think backpacks should be illegal if you're over 18 years old. unless you're hiking... or as the name would suggest, backpacking.

Were you working on the Apple/Samsung case in your last gig?

I will sometimes use my backpack on the weekend if I'm coming into work early, of if I'm traveling casually. Never during the week though - that's briefcase time.

Also, messenger bags are dorky.

The practical side of me has never understood the hate on backpacks. Nothing does a better job of actually carrying stuff efficiently. I can understand from an aesthetic standpoint, but after a full day carrying a bunch of files or corporate binders around from office to office, a backpack looks mighty tempting.

I don't want to have 2 things. I have a nice briefcase but I go from work to school, want it all in one bag. I just carry too much crap at once.

I like the style of the mentioned bags, prefer a better price and different color but I like the style.

Did they pay the legal team well? I mean...that was a pretty damn high profile case.

Two things

1) backpacks often cause one's posture to be like that dorky kid in high school who carried all his books all the time.
2) most backpacks are hideous techno-monstrosities. That's why I got one designed a half-century ago.

There is something worse than a backpack though... a roller bag

I used to have a rolling file case, until one of my associates made off with it when he quit. That was great, but only until you hit a flight of stairs.

I agree that anyone's going to have hard time finding a backpack that will look office-appropriate. I don't think I've ever seen one that I thought I could carry into a client meeting--if I had, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

I suppose I would not have an issue with them if I lived in your area and everyone drove everywhere. But in the city (specifically on public transit), rolling suitcases are a way of telling everyone else on public transit that you're an inconsiderate jerk.

forget inconsiderate jerk, you either look like one of two things: a geriatric with one of those rolling grocery basket cart things (anyone that's been to NYC will know what i mean, i don't know if they are popular in other walking cities). or two, a middle-schooler. i remember when i was a senior in high school, about 10 years ago, the middle school gets started bringing roller bags to school because there was all this hooplah about the health risks of carrying a backup.

I can see how they would be annoying when you live in a city and use public transportation. A roller makes it so you basically take up the space of two or three people. On a crowded sidewalk, that's a lot.

It also doesn't help that the people who tend to use them on public transit are generally not spatially aware to begin with...so they ruin a five foot radius around them.

What are your sunglasses?

I'm nit picking, but they seem more "sport" than "business"

IRT the briefcase topic, has anyone mentioned this one?

http://www.bonobos.com/billykirk-schoolboy-satchel-tan

Under $500 by a good margin, light tan, good looking, etc., etc.

The only ones I brought with me, I actually took them off before I left my room.

Noted on the wrinkled aspect. I ironed them this morning but they seem to have re-wrinkled since 630am.

If they were much shorter I feel like i would be showing too much boot. WHen I sit down the bottom of the pant leg is above the top of the boot. If they were an inch shorter they would be mid-shin, I think.

heres the bag

The messenger bag is fine for a book and binder, or laptop only. The backpack has room for everything, its just a big pain in the ass bag
