it's work related. i work for a private real estate investment firm/developer and most of our projects include major retail components. in fact, most of our developments are entirely anchored by a retail components. my role within the company, in addition to finding capital and property, is to take a curatorial approach to the retail component. as such, i am regularly in contact with, or have in the past engaged with nearly every retailer/store you can think of.

I bought a chambray work shirt from them once a couple if years ago. The shop has doubled in size since then.

your patronage has made unionmade what it is today

it was a beautiful 80-82 degrees and sunny and all my coworkers who are native SFers were complaining about how hot it was outside ...

Yesterday's outfit:
Shirt: Modern Tailor
Belt: AE
Pants/socks: J Crew
Shoes: Alden for BB

Btw BB's online customer service is awful. It's a completely different experience than shopping in person and its looking like this might be the second time they've screwed me and just canceled an order without telling me because their inventory system is trash.

I'm wearing the exact same thing but black shoes, red/white checkered shirt and tan slacks.

Cuff your arms different, its cleaner.

I like the fit of that shirt, where do you get them? I need ones that taper in as they go down like yours.

So you're wearing the exact same thing, just with all different pieces?

I don't roll my sleeves in public. That's just for desk duty.

The shirt is made to measure from Modern Tailor. You provide your measurements and they cut the shirt per your specs.

Here's the thing...they're really well made, very attractive boots. I just am not sure they add anything to my wardrobe. They're too casual to wear to work outside of casual Fridays, and I already have casual, comfortable workboots with my Indys.

If I end up buying a bike (Triumph) in the near future, these will be my riding boots. If not, I might sell them simply because I don't think I'll use them that much.

fair point.

regarding the bike, make sure you get a shifter cover/boot protector. it would be cool if you had a custom one made out of the same cordovan leather.

Lots of makers have slim-fit or athletic-cut shirts. Or if you can't find any you like, spend a few bucks and have your shirts tailored. There's nothing quite so annoying, IMHO, as a bunch of billowing fabric around your midsection.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of looking at your closet and realizing that you're basically "done"--you don't really need anything new and if you were to get something new it would overlap substantially with something you already have. I can always find a new tie or a new shirt or two, but I'm running out of things to get in most other areas.

I've got on sort of the same thing: OCBD shirt (yellow) with olive chinos and my tan penny loafers and a tan belt. It's an easy look to pull off on a warm day with no client appointments.
