New LED Turn Signal Bulbs Causing Headlights to Flicker

I installed LED turn signals after I purchased my 323i a few weeks ago because one of the original bulbs was out. I used Sylvania 7506 LEDs (http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/331901197187). From then on, my front headlights would flicker non stop to the point where I stopped driving at night while trying to solve the issue. Eventually, I decided to try to take out the turn signals I had just installed to see if that could fix it, and it did. I can't think of any reason this would cause an issue though, aren't LEDs more power efficient than the OEM bulbs? Should I just go back to the standard bulbs or is there an underlying issue I could check?

Thank you!

Try these: https://bimmian.com/Accessories-for-...-Signal-Bulbs/

They're a lot more expensive (although they're available from other vendors), but they work perfectly (had them on both of my coupes -- don't look right on facelifted coupes -- and have the ultra-bright reverse ones, as well).

As for why your bulbs did what they did, I don't know, but LEDs tend to wreak havoc on our cars, one way or another. Either they're on all of the time, or they make lights flicker, or they throw bulb-out codes, or all of the above.

Only places where you can have regular LEDs on our cars are for interior lighting (except, depending on the LED, the visor vanity light, where it tends to flicker) and possibly the fog lights. Beyond that, the Weisslicht Spektrum bulbs are the only ones I've found that don't screw around with the rest of the car's functionality.

I didn't know that. Thanks for that info! I'll definitely look into those LED's though. For now I guess I'll go back to the original bulb type just cause I can't justify $100 on turn signal LEDs right now!
