Window Regulator

Hey there, I've done my research and found out that I need a new window regulator on my 2001 330ci passenger window. It will roll up and down but only about 3 inches up. I've pulled off my door panel and looked around a bit but I can't seem to get the window to roll all the way up. I park it on the street and in the parking lot at work, and would really prefer to have it up obviously. Not to mention the 100+ degree heat here in Arizona. Is there something I can do it get it to stay in the up position until my new regulator gets here in the mail (hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday)?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(edit) Oh! And I've tried to do the 15 second reset thing to no avail as well as simply trying to pull up or push up on it while trying to roll it up with the switch. I can't get it to budge past about 3 inches.

tl;dr Help me get my window up!

you can put a decent piece of wood at the bottom of the window frame. its guetto but it does the trick at least until the new part arrives

That would be what I would do, but I literally cannot get the window itself to move. It's stuck and will not go up more than 3 inches. Whether I pull on it or anything.

That happened to me and I took the door panel off, put my hand under the glass, and pushed up manually while I hit the up switch at the same time. That worked for me when one of mine crapped out.

I actually figured it out, when I took a closer look at things the reason that it wouldn't go up further is that the braided metal cable was so frayed that it wouldn't roll into the real anymore. I ended up cutting the braided wire and then the window would move freely. Thanks for all your help guys. I appreciate it.
