Groaning Sound in the Front End

My 2006 330Ci ZHP has 75K miles. For the last several thousands of miles I am hearing groaning noise from the front end when I DON"T have the brakes on. Does not matter if it is going straight or turning. I can hear it at highway and low speeds. A friend of mine surmised that it might be the wheel bearings as I have run several track sessions at Road Atlanta over the years (usually two 20 minute sessions on Sunday at SCCA events there). What do ya'll think?

TIA,
Jim

Hi. I was getting a similar noise on the front right side of my E46 with 68K miles. After carefully checking each part as i disassembled, it turned out to the wheel bearing.

Great. Thank you. The next question for the forum - Is there a better/cheaper aftermarket wheel bearing than OEM?
