T- mobile Grandfathered unlimited plan question.

I had a quick question about the grandfathered unlimited data plan. I have the android unlimited data plan which they offered when the G1 one came out, I was wondering what speeds would i get if i picked up the new galaxy s3? would it be 4g unlimited or just 3g?

And on the side note, i upgraded my phone i believe around march 2010 but i cant seem to be able to upgrade now through the website.

TIA

i'm on t-mobile prepaid (no data plan). but, i'm pretty sure they check for that now... they'll probably automatically upgrade you. anything to scrape a few extra bucks.

as far as i know, the data plan that you can purchase is still unlimited, you will just see some throttling if you get past 5gb.

Their data plans don't take your connection speed into account (2G/3G/whatever), you just get throttled when you go over the limit. If you're on their old 'unlimited' data plan, I believe they cap you at 10GB.

Log in to T-Mobile's site -- near the middle-left of the page there's a blurb about "Eligible for best upgrade pricing on:" -- anytime from that day on you're good for a full update.
