Dreaded Dsc, abs, and e-brake lights. $1574

Ok, so I finally broke down and went to the BMW Indy shop to have my 02/2002 330i sport scanned for codes. They came back with the following 3 codes: 5DFF - abs dsc internal fault code module x 51 times , 5E24 pressure sensor 1 x 2 times, and 5E21 pressure sensor 2 x 1 time. They said the module is going out and quoted me for $1574 at 3.6 hours of labor. They also said they need to get the module from the dealer. Any idea's of any other possible issues with these codes? And if it does need to be replaced is that a fair and reasonable price. After doing some digging on the forums, I have't heard of too many people doing this on their own successfully because of he control hydro unit needing to be programmed. Something to do with the vin being registered. Thanks for any and all available help on this. If anyone can help mechanically I am in the Arizona/phx area. Cheers!!

What problems were you having in the first place? What "module" is going out?

The abs/dsc hydro unit. The main module that costs like 1000 dollars at the dealership.

Buy a used one off eBay and have BMW install it, or better yet have your Indy do it. I had the DSC module on my old 328ci replaced with a used eBay one. I paid something like $150 for the module, and then about $400 for the install. Much better than $1500...

I don't know if that will work for a facelift e46. I have heard nothing but problems with those trying to install used dsc modules on these cars. I also from research on the forums -people are saying that dealers won't install used parts I.e parts they cannot warranty. In addition there is apparently a lot of programming involved with these (not speaking for pre-face lift cars). The dsc module ha to be programmed to match the vin.

Programming takes all of 20 minutes but the shop charge 2 hours seems right as they do have to make money to pay for the equipment. I'd reset it and see what comes back first.

I'm looking on realoem and getbmwparts but can't find the DSC module for my 2002 330CiC. On realoem I can find things that seem to be hydraulic units but not the electronic parts. Can anyone help please?

Thanks!!

Its just coding no reason you have to use a new part. Coding with ISTA is a PIA takes about 1 hour to do a simple coding. With the older system progman/SSS it was only about 20 MIN. Autologic does this in about 15 Min. We gennerly charge $70 to code modules hope this helps!

when you did this did it upgrade the system to how the newer 325 and 330's are (hold for a couple seconds and ebreak light goes on)

My brother had this issue for a while and kept saying it was a speed sensor. His would come on and off though
