Yep! I sure have. If you've never heard a track and thought to yourself, "Damn, that was legit" or something similar, I haven't the faintest idea what kind of music you actually listen to.

...and a discussion isn't an argument. If that's the case, every discussion we have about why Car X is better than Car Y (..or why Girl A is hotter than Girl B) should be considered an argument (..and we know that's not the case).

I rock Slum, Blackstar, OC, Saukrates, etc. on a daily. That stuff is always live.

Come on bry, his delivery and sound is NOTHING like Eminem's. Yak has massive cred on the underground scene. You want to hear an Eminem clone, listen to Denance. Now HE sounds like Eminem.

WHAT??????? These are rappers whose beats are frequently sampled or freestyled over (..Proof schooled Eminem in "8 Mile" while lacing his flow over OC's "Time's Up" track). Rappers that new school cats reference in their rhymes. Come on man!

Okay, time for a lesson......

OC:

Saukrates:

Blackstar is Mos Def's previous crew.......Slum Village is........man, look them up.

oc's album word...life is probably one of my favorite albums that nobody knows about. if you like jazzy, old-school 90s hip hop, you have to give it a listen

That's just me though........and I've given the guy plenty of hard listens. I'll use "Control" for instance. To me, his verse was average. Not bad....but not fire! Calling out other rappers was what lit up the industry. I'd much rather listen to Cage or J-Zone.....or Black Milk (..he's dope!) or even the up-and-comer Joey Bada$$.
I think his Control verse was homage to Eminem. "Nas, Andre 300 and Eminem" is a short version of his verse in Till I Collapse.

Either way, to each their own. I didn't like Eminem initially, mainly due to age and ignorance, but I grew to love him. Kendrick teamed up with Dre and Eminem can only produce future quality rap. JMO.

I agree with you. Let me clarify....

...I used "calling out" because that's how most industry heads took it. I didn't take that way considering he was in Em's "Berserk" video, has laced many a track with Dre (.."Compton" is pretty good), etc.
