Not only did she know how to turn on the key--but could open the hood and knew what was what and do some simple things, including oil changes.
Thats pretty nice! Most girls can barely find the ignition. My sister hasn't been in a manual car before and asked what side the gas is on. Its the same thing...just an extra pedal for the clutch!

Just graduated, but what the hell.

H&R Touring Cup Kit w/ strut tower reinforcements
ECS slotted rotors
EBC Redstuff pads
Custom-fab headerback exhaust w/ magnaflow muffler

As far as I'm concerned this thread was supposed to be a site to show off and brag a little bit, much like high school itself. I was actually looking forward to it. Thanks to trj for being an older guy who doesn't approach us younger drivers with derision and condescension. We can generally accept advice. When it's laced with sarcasm and stereotypes, not so much.

That aside, I look forward to getting to know you guys

What I don't understand is how you guys wouldn't give a high school kid a hard time for driving an '06 Civic worth 5k but its a huge deal that they're driving a 12 year old e46 worth 5k...

When was the last time you were on a civic forum and someone freaked out because their $5k 2006 needed $3500 in repairs?

phew... i just graduated. glad i'm safe from all of this ridicule from the "Class of 2006."

but seriously, some of you guys are being ridiculous. don't come and hate on kids because they have an e46 that they may have likely worked their ass off for. i personally worked 30-40 hours/week for two summers and 10-20 hours/week during a school year in order to be driving an e46. do you have any idea how difficult it is to balance doing well in school, going to basketball/soccer practice everyday, and working 10-20 hours/week? adults work their asses off to support a family, i worked mine off to drive an e46. if i'm not an e46 enthusiast, i don't who is.

you should really be hating on the guys who are ruining their cars' suspension to look "cool."

I meant trolling that you are a senior in HS, not that that is not your car... If you really are a senior in HS, how did you buy your car? How much is your Ins? I just NEVER had $20k in HS and sure as hell couldn't afford a $300/mo car payment plus $200/mo insurance... It's okay if your parents bought it, it's not your fault your parents are rich, sh*t, I wish I had rich parents growing up lol

I wouldn't say we're rich. We got the car for the wholesale price. The whole car was paid cash so no car payment. So the only payment is insurance. I do all the work on the car myself at my grandfathers house. There are more expensive cars than mine at school. But I think mine is the most beautiful. Yes I have a job and help with my insurance. My grandparents helped a lot to pay for the car and I'm grateful for it. Oh btw I'm an only child, and only grandchild on both sides of my family. I think this is the biggest reason I have this car. I never show off at school or think I'm better than anyone else. I love cars. I always have. I wanted a nice one and I was fortunate enough to have one of the best sports cars ever made. I do not play music loud with the top down and do burn outs in front of kids at school. I park in the back of the parking lot to make sure nobody dings my door. I try my best to be as classy as possible.
