to make the white sauce, microwave the butter for 15 seconds to melt it, then combine all the ingredients, whisk them until smooth and refrigerate overnight

for the yakiniku marinade, crush and chop the garlic, slice the onions thinly and boil the mirin for 15-20 seconds, then take off the burner. let cool to room temperature, then add in all the ingredients and mix.

heat your grill up to the highest, in this case i dont have my fancy korean bbq grill but this will do. once hot, use a rag or paper towel soaked in oil to coat the surface. because i was using meat with a fatty side, i put the fatty side down

once you see the juices oozing out on the top, flip the meat and cook for another 30 seconds depending on thickness. really thin pieces only require about 3 seconds once you flip, because of the thickness of the cut, i used 30.

eat up muggafugga. it looks "burnt" on one side, but that is just the sugar and soy sauce in the marinade caramelizing on the grill. it's done perfectly rare inside with a nice crust on one side. i also threw some kimchi on the plate as i just bought a huge jar.

thanks! funny story, in the 24 hours this was marinading, i told my roommate hey there's leftovers in the fridge from the past few days eat it or ill just throw it out. he assumes the marinading beef is the leftovers, puts some on a plate and microwaves it for a minute or so and then ate it. told me hey dude that beef was a little undercooked.
