Andrew Cross 323Ci Build Thread

Hello everyone, I would like to share my progress with my car with all of you. I got the car in June 2011 and I've enjoyed driving it ever since. All I've really done to it in the past is installed angel eyes and slapped on a ZHP knob.

Anyway, this afternoon I installed M3 seats

Before:



Passenger seat out, my carpets were so nasty.


Holes in the front bumper, courtesy of front plate laws. I want to get M Tech II bumpers anyway, so I'm not too bummed.

I found french fries and a cigarette in the nether regions of my driver's seat when taking it out. I've had the car for a year and a half, and I've never eaten in it, I don't smoke either...

I've got a lot planned for this car, just wanted to share with all of you.

Can he get an m3 steering wheel since his is stage 1 air bag?

I'm trying to get a newer sport wheel or a ZHP wheel, but I need to figure some stuff out with the airbags. Hopefully it's just plug and play with the circular airbag. I also want to get new trim. Mine is cracked, so if I were to CF wrap it, you'd probably still see a bit of texture where the cracks are. I also need/want new A, B, and C pillar covers, so I'm thinking about converting to black headliner

I've been out of town, so I haven't had time to do much to the car, but I have a minor update.

My third brake light trim was sagging really badly, so I kind of ghetto-rigged it for a temporary solution. Still deciding whether or not to convert to black headliner. Please excuse the poor iphone pictures.




This week I'm fixing my sunroof and hopefully dyeing my rear deck black.

Not much progress is going on, I've been getting lazy because of the cold. Anyway, this spring I'm replacing subframe bushings and diff bushings. After that, the modding will take off. I'll post pictures of my subframe and diff bushing adventures. I also still need to fix my sunroof, install the sunshade, and dye my rear deck, planning on getting that done this week.

Hi everyone, sorry nothing really has happened progress-wise for a little while. I did find out, though, that I can't swap to an M3/ZHP steering wheel. Because my car was built in 8/99, it would require new airbags everywhere, a new wiring harness, new airbag module, and some other stuff. So it looks like I'm stuck with the triangle for a while.

I finally have an update though!

Some friends and I started doing subframe bushings this weekend, here's what we've accomplished so far:



Pretty big DIY, but it's been pretty fun so far. Thankfully I have no frame damage and I found out that the previous owner welded a reinforcement plate to the left rear subframe mount. Now it's time to get these bushings out. I'll report progress as it comes along.

Oh, we also turned it on and revved it a bit with open headers. It sounds too good

Also, big things are coming this summer, finally. Really looking forward to it.

It kinda fell off of my subframe and I'm not too sure where it lives

Oh that little thing? It just holds the entire rear end of your car together so it doesn't fall out while driving
