Pleas Identify this Part

Can somebody please tell me what this part is and where it goes? It is located behind the wheel well liner on the front passenger side. It looks like it clips in somewhere, but I cannot find it. 2000 323i.

It's some kind of a sensor.
Are you missing a gender liner?
Maybe it
Goes
Somewhere in there

Do you have the part number to look it up online

Thanks for your reply. Sometimes we overlook the obvious. When you mentioned if I was missing a fender liner I went out and looked at my fender liner which I had to remove to see where the sensor went and lo and behold there is whre it connects - on the botton of the fender liner. I still do not know what it is for. Thanks for your response. At least now I can out it all back together.

that looks like the ambient air temperature for you HVAC... do you have the automatic air control for your HVAC system? it clips into the splash guard in front of the wheel with the flat face of the sensor facing down with the wires up into your bumper

It is where you described it is so I guess it is the ambient temperature sensor. Thanks for your input.
