I don't recall there being any talk at all. Did I miss something? Did someone in the US decide to go after 9's?

Are you serious?
A while ago there was a "conversation" with Jason and a few other members that the first 9sec 1/4mile will be done in the US.
You know it because you were also commenting in that thread, i will try to find the thread.

I don't recall stating I would be the first, or that anyone in the US would be the first. I may have stated I'd like to get my car into the 9's.. but never claimed I'd be the first.

I haven't driven my car in months.. I'll likely start dragging it again closer to MFest as Chris/myself have a bet as to who will bring the fastest car to Mfest in 2013.

It will take some time, work and devotion from someone who cares to get a 9sec run out of these cars...so far we're all busy working.

The power is there in these cars, its just who's willing to spend the bucks on a dedicated tire/wheel setup, brake setup and go out and do it. I'm game but just haven't had the time.. maybe later this year.

Yes. This guy Nuna(misspelled?) is going for nines in his 2JZ transplanted BMW M3(auto tranny). I am going to personally check out his ride and post some drag vids soon. He lives locally. We have been swapping lies. LOL.

But the time slips dont lie at West Palm Beach Dragway. We'll see. Its not a true M since no BMW motor. So it really does not count. But it should certainly prove interesting. He is waiting to have Pro EFI installed locally here. A snap since there is much experience locally with ProEFI and Supras(2JZ)
