Exclamation 323i with muffler delete- Need New Muffler.. Suggestions???

Hello everyone,

I have a 2000 323i with no muffler or resonators, conforti CAI and some other mods.

I removed the muffler years ago but it's getting way too loud and annoying now that I use the car for work. Sadly, I threw away the original exhaust and muffler, so I am looking for a new one. Don't want to break the bank and go for something too exotic as it's an aging car.

Any suggestions as to what would fit and not be too loud? I have been looking for a stock one again with no luck

You can get an OBX stainless steel full cat back for about $345...

Glass pack resonators installed from your local exhaust shop. They are about 50$ before labor. They do a real nice job of taming that sound.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll keep all these options in mind.

Anyone deal with a magna flow muffler?

The local shop said they have them in stock so it would be any easy way to go. Would it reduce the sound quite a bit to near stock? Honestly it couldn't get any louder than it is already!

By the way I don't recommend the muffler delete to anyone. Too loud to talk to others in the car IMO

Won't work. OP has a 323, which is only single piped.

Get a Magnaflow catback, or just an original 323/328 exhaust off of someone for really cheap.

Great thanks for the input. Does anyone know the diameter of the pipe for a aftermarket muffler? I was trying to measure and it seems to be about 2.25 inches but can't be sure.

For magna flow owners, how loud is it compared to stock? Would love an oem but can't be to find one.

You also removed the resonators, ah ya its gonna be too loud.

Muffler delete by itself is nice and simple.

Do a youtube search for "e46 magnaflow" and you'll get plenty of hits.
