Spaghetti and Meatballs Recipe

Meatballs
1.5 pounds 80/20 beef
1 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
1/2 cup dried parsley
1.5 tsp cracked black pepper
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
5 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped
(optional, if im doing it sicilian style ill put in 1/2 cup of raisins and 1/2 cup of toasted pine nuts)

Sauce
large can of Hunt's whole tomatoes or crushed tomatoes (crush if buying the whole)
1 tbsp cracked black pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp crushed red pepper
1 tbsp sugar
1/8 cup olive oil
5 large basil leaves

mix all of the meatball ingredients together, not too much or it will get too tough. make into a size just a little bit smaller than a tennis ball. bake in the oven on 350 until browned on the outside.

heat the oil on medium, add in the garlic and red pepper and once it starts frying, bring to medium low and fry on low heat until garlic is browned. this will take a while but its worth it. it almost gives it a roasted flavor.

once that is done, all in the rest of the sauce ingredients, bring heat to medium again until it is simmering, then back to medium low. cover and simmer for half an hour.

once the meatballs are done, put into the sauce, stir it up to mix it and simmer for another 10 minutes.

i serve it over whole wheat pasta and a little grated parm. pix later im focking hungry, didnt want to do a full walk through and yea ill do it later lol.
