Put mine on yesterday

Put my coilovers on yesterday. Also installed some RE RSMs. The ride is great. I did have stock sport suspension with over 150k miles on it, so the coilovers are a lot nicer to ride on. Install was straight forward and easy. No clunks so far. Everything is just how I want it!

Question, I'm at 118,000 miles... Should I freshen up everything like the pads and RSM before I put these on?

It is recommended that you do replace wear and tear items when installing coilovers. By doing so you can achieve maximum performance from the coilovers.

I am pretty sure I got it right but just for the confirmation, I would like to get consensus on how the rear spring pads are installed on this setup.

According to instructions, it says use the factory upper spring perch between the control arm and spring.

Attachment 500811
Here, is the realoem diagram.
Factory upper perch is part number 18 in this diagram.

Attachment 500812

So, do I use part number 18 in place of part number 15 of the realOEM picture?

Currently I have part number 15 between the spring and control arm(as factory setup). And I had trouble getting the spring get into the arm using part 15.

I havent driven the car since the installation as we have had a lot of snow. As soon as the snow clears I am going to install the front coils as well.
x2!

#18 goes in place of #15, and #15 goes in your spare parts box. The adjustable spring perch has rubber glued on it already.

Got it, thanks.
No wonder the I was not able to seat the springs in with the upper pad.

Wish I would've gotten these instead. I placed my order on Sunday with RaceLand and they just barely shipped them out. FML their CS sucks! I'll most likely order these soon....

Just another question about installation.
I am taking my car to a shop to install the fronts coils now.
Only thing you will be using from the factory setup is, the flat washer between the factory top hat and the perch on the coil overs, Top hat and the 3 nuts on the top of the shock tower.

Am I right?

Get KW V2s. Don't waste your time or money on this kit. It will not net you the track times or performance you are looking for. I am going to keep it real with you LOL.

These are going on my wifes Convertible. she doesnt mind the the tougher ride like with my BC's but would pefer it slightly softer. Would you recomend stock Strut mounts ? The car most likely wont be going any lower then stock (e36 m3 vert)

I do recommend new top mounts if you can. I just ordered a set from pelicanparts.com for $28 each. My E60 has the same top mount as the E46.
