Tire pressure

Have my winter treads installed and unlike my summer (stock) setup of 225 on front and 245 on rear, winter set is 205/50 on all 4 corners. So, I am trying to understand how to calculate the right tire pressure and would appreciate some advice

I run 32 all around. Check on your drivers door sticker PSI listed there for tire sizes.

Yes, the sticker list recommended pressure for the stock tires, but not for 205/50 and I "assume" it would be different...

I think the 205/55 17s were the 'standard' stock for my 2005 - 330CiC. For full load or fast driving, the sticker reads 39 front and 46 rear. I put Hancook V12 EVOs on (summer tires) and they have a soft sidewall. I have found I prefer 41 front and 46 rear. If you want a softer ride, you would probably decrease listed pressures on sticker by 3. Next time I use the BMW, I'll check and get back to you.

OK, you made me go and check mine. On my '04 the sticker lists about 10 tires for, 2 people, 205\50 lists 32 front 36 rear. It is higher for max loads.

If by "sticker", you are talking about the sticker on the driver side frame, my sticker only list the stock tires and spare...

Went ahead and inflated per the sticker on the door (35-front, 40-rear), but you got me rethinking it...

Please let me know if there is another location where I should be looking...

Well, I just checked my own sticker and, for the 205-55/17 tires that were oem, my sticker only shows one recommended pressure: 39 front and 46 rear (with the doughnut at 61psi). This is for a 2005 330CiC. The size of wheels and tires have varied over time, so that may account for the differences between stickers. Yes, the sticker to which I refer is the one on the body of the car itself, visible when you open the driver side door.
When I bought the car, it was delivered with 36/36. When I later pointed out the discrepancy to the service advisor at BMW, he professed astonishment (after checking out my sticker) saying he was 'used to' seeing 36/36.

Yes the sticker on the door frame. My 2004 330CIC Canadian\European sticker lists 10 tire size options for my model with the appropriate recommended pressures for fully loaded or up to 2 people.

I keep my car empty and usually by myself. I have the series 73 rims with 205/50/17 snows. For the 2 people setting it recommends 32/36 for max vehicle weight in that tire size it lists 39/46.

You can see that there is a large range between 2 people and max car load, so if you want to run 35/40 you will be fine.
