CDT components

Does anyone have any experience with CDT component speakers?

I've read some excellent reviews about this brand. They have a new
"euro car" series that have shorter baskets that are said to fit Euro cars.
I believe the mounting depth is just under 2.5". From what I've been reading on this forum, it seems that 2.5" and under should fit in the sedan without any major issues.

It's been very difficult to get any real information on this I.C.E forum.
In all the thread searching I have done, no one has yet to make a definative statement as to what the actual mounting depth is in the sedan or coupe.
The only info I've been able to extract is by taking the speaker models and brands that people have used and then searched for their manufacturers specs. With this I have come to the conclusion that 6.5" mid bass drivers will fit with no mods as long as they are 2.5" or shorter in depth to fit the sedan front doors. The coupe it seems can accomadate 2.75" depth.

If anyone has definitive info from experience or from being told directly by an installer, please post the sizes that do work.
Also, if you have CDT brand component speakers please post your take on them.

I think I'll get the CDT 6.5" "euro fit" components. I'll post my impression of these speakers once I have the speakers, sub, and amp installed.
I'll be using either the Rockford Power 851X amp or the MTX Thunder 1004 amp. Both are 4 channel amps capable of 110 watts rms & 125 watts rms respectively. They bridge to 4 ohms with great power for the sub/s.
The Rockford bridges to 425 watts rms and the MTX bridges to 500 watts rms.
Both have PLENTY of power to drive a set of front components on the front channels and a sub/s on the rear channels.

CDT Components

I am waiting for my CDT HD 52s and I will get them installed on the 5th of July. From my research the 6.5 euro frames has the same mounting depth as the 6.5 HDs (something like 2 7/8) and it was too deep for my door (I have a coupe). I have already installed the CDT CL6 coaxiels as my rear fill and they sound pretty good...

I will have the HD52s, CL6, and my JL10W3 all powered by the JL 500/5 and I will let you know how it sounds once I get everything installed.

Cool, thanks. Sounds like you'll have a sweet setup.

I did find out today that the EF series "euro fit" are about 3" deep depending on top or bottom mount. Yes, they will be too big. Too bad cause I found the on special price for the HD's EF series for $210 for the set!
Awesome price. You can get them from
Try this link if you can use 6.5's

I think I'll go with the Polk EX3560, silk dome tweeters and 100 watt rms capable with under 2.5" mounting depth. It should work.
