HID turned purple

I have an 04 325ci with the hid headlights lastnight i got into my car started it up and my passenger side headlight was a purple/pinkish color. I'm guessing this means its about to die, but i wanted to go brigher does anyone know what the ballast can actually handle as far as brightness of the bulb?

yes your bulb is going out. this guy on ebay sells OEM bulbs for a good price. these were the exact bulbs that i pulled out of my car when i replaced my lights. i would stick to the OEM 4300k bulb color, if your looking for "brighter" maybe try an aftermarket 6000k

Thanks a lot and i wanted to do hid fogs do you know what the oem Housings are rated for i've seen people melt them before and i don't want to do the same

You can put HID's in your fog lights, but it will blind oncoming cars. If you want to do it right, look into projector fog lights to focus the light a bit more

Rofl, yea don't buy bulbs from the dealer. If you google search you can find a coupon for TRS for free shipping so it comes to $95 shipped for the Philips bulbs.
