Started Cooling System Overhaul..

This can't be the original water pump can it? I could not find anything in the maintenance history saying it has been changed.. anyways odo reads 136,XXX

Is there anyways to tell if this is the original? If so I am glad I did not wait any longer to do this project..

That looks like a genuine BMW pump. I just pulled the same thing out of my 325.
No idea if that's the original or not though.

Is BMW putting pumps with the plastic in as replacements, I thought the new ones were all metal.

That's how mine came out at 106k miles. It actually felt just fine. No looseness in the bearings or anything. It was a composite material, I am sure yours is too.
