Need guidance on purchasing e46

Found a 2003 E46 M3 Black Coupe. Manual. 58k miles. Says low miles on tires and new battery. Priced at 23k. Is that a reasonable price? What would be a steal price?

Thanks in advance!

That is a good price, not amazing, but good. A steal would be say, 18 for a car with that kind of mileage, and 21-23 would be average. Try and talk them down some, and make sure the interior isn't faded and beat to crap. ALSO: MAKE SURE THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN OWNED BY AN 18 YEAR OLD. Young owners beat the living snot out of these M3's. Buying a sports car that has been "young owned" is usually a bad idea. The engine will wear out earlier than normal due to the heavy usage. Car-fax and make sure that bad boy is clean. Otherwise, if you can talk them down a grand or so, it will be worth your time. That is just my .02, so no hating!

^^low miles, new tires, good interior/exterior, overall a solid car. Asking 25k for less miles and one model year newer.

PM me if you need more info.
